An introduction to colour linocut - learn how to design, carve and print your own 2-block linocut prints using traditional tools and techniques in this comprehensive day-long workshop.

When: Tue 8th of July 10.30-4pm
In this workshop we'll cover:
-tools and materials: choices of carving surface and tools and how to keep your tools sharp-different approaches to designing for colour linocut
-how to plan your design and separate the colours between the blocks
-how to transfer your design to lino
-how to create different marks with linocutting tools, using them safely
- how to register your blocks and create a registration jig
-how to ink the block
-how to print by hand (with a spoon)
By the end of the workshop you will have a small edition of your prints to take with you and the knowledge and skills to continue making linocuts at home, plus detailed notes about the process and recommendations for the materials and suppliers to get you started.
This is a very small class allowing for plenty of one-to-one assistance and guidance.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience.
All materials and equipment provided, plus tea and biscuits!
This workshop is part of my solo exhibition at Whitespace gallery 5-10 of July. The opening night Fri 4th of July 6-8pm. Everyone is welcome!
